1806-1536 Rowling Pit Bull Terrier Adult Female for sale in Virginia Beach, Virginia

1 Rowling's story
Quiet and timid in the cage but personality abound outside on the leash!  ROWLING came to us as a stray so what seems to be a timid 40-45 pound 1-5 year old girl upon first meeting, she quickly comes out of that nervous shell within moments of leashing up and heading outside.  ROWLING is sweet, friendly and full of energy!  Her fur is gray with light orangy brindle stripes barely showing under the gray color when the sun hits her just at that perfect time.  She seems to love running around and chasing tennis balls but not picking them up.  Instead, she was enjoying the freedom of running around.  They say it's not the destination but the journey that counts and ROWLING is all about the journey.  She seems to love people!  Her energy had her jumping up here and there, especially when treats were involved.  Wondering where she had been and what she did before arriving on our doorstep is what we do sometimes and with this little one, it was what I did.  She must have come from a loving family because it's clear she loves to be around her humans.  She must have been treated well as although she was timid at first, she still let me harness her and lead her out.  She must have been cared for and fed regularly as her fur looks pretty good albeit a little dirty and she seems to be at a healthy weight.  So the big question is why didn't anyone come looking for her?  We learn we cannot focus too long on the past and have to focus on the future, ROWLING's future with a new family willing to take her in, care for her, adopt her and treat her as a member of the family.  She is pretty good on the leash walking along the sidewalk.  She is curious and fun. As mentioned earlier, she did get a little jumpy with me in the barnyard in her excitement and when I pulled out some treats to see how smart she was.  She stopped with a simple command, sit.  She sat. And then she showed me she knew down.  Good girl!  I bet with very little time and training, she'll learn so many more commands/tricks, anything to get her mind working.  ROWLING seems like she'd make a great family pet, children included but since we don't know her past, bring your kids in to meet her and let's see how they do together!  While we're talking about it, go ahead and bring any resident dog in for a meet and greet so we can see how they feel about each other! Right now ROWLING seems to be ok with other dogs but let's be sure.  ROWLING is currently hanging out in our medium dog adoption kennel so if you happen to miss her, please just ask and someone will bring her out to you. Her id number is 1.  Thank you for considering adoption!
